Class project at Mount Royal University

1
Introduction
This project was created for my capstone of my undergrad degree at Mount Royal University. Designed by Johanna Lunzmann and Natasha Konwitschny.

2
Background
A project with a focus on the third goal of the United Nations 17 sustainable goals. Applied locally, to Calgary, the third goal, health and well being was honed in, specifically to the barriers affecting physical activities of young adults. A "how might we question," guided the project. How might we make physical activity accessible to young adults in Calgary?

3
Challenge
This capstone project explored the third United Nations Sustainable Development Goal—Good Health and Well-Being—through a local lens focused on Calgary. Centered on young adults, the project investigated the social, environmental, and systemic barriers that limit access to physical activity.

Guided by the question “How might we make physical activity more accessible to young adults in Calgary?”, the project translated research and community insights into tangible design outcomes. The final deliverables included a data visualization that surfaced key barriers and patterns, and an interactive exhibit designed to engage the public, encourage reflection, and spark conversation around inclusive movement and wellness in urban spaces.

SME Interviews
A dedicated visual identity was created for the Smithers Parks and Recreation Master Plan that aligned with the Town of Smithers’ existing brand. This approach allowed the project to feel distinct yet familiar across public-facing materials.
